If the Democrats are just joshing around about understanding why they lost, then Gov. Newman should be their next frontrunner for 2028. However, if they really want to turn over a new leaf and pick a new man, Gov. Josh Shapiro should be their next leader.
They say he's smart. Really? Sharp as a tack is he? Well maybe. He is acting more like DeSantis on the potential disaster preparation for bird flu and less like Newman on wildfire prep.
"Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-Pa.) took the threat of avian flu head-on at a town hall at the 109th annual Pennsylvania Farm Show, saying that as highly pathogenic avian influenza spreads to dairy in other states, his administration would remain proactive and aggressive in establishing a nation-leading surveillance-testing system for milk at the processor level."

Ok so the Dem's can make all the same competence arguments for him that the GOP can make for DeSantis.
But what about game? Does he have Charisma? Can he play the media like a fiddle? Well he can sing.
"Shapiro, a type-A attorney general running to be the Democratic governor of Pennsylvania, rocks in his pew. When a reverend asks the churchgoers to lift up their voices, he looks her in the eye and finishes her sentence, pronouncing 'me' when she croons, 'What God has for me, it is for me.' He then proceeds to give a 30-minute speech that was supposed to be closer to half as long."

So he has the touch. That's not a high bar for Democrats who always have home field advantage with the media. But more imprtantly he is not the anchor someone like Harris was.
Ok but he's not DEI approved. Well neither is Newman, their only semi-viable alternative. OK, but he is Jewish which seems to be Kryptonite to the Wokies. Yet, if the Democrats have learned anything from the recent unpleasentness they must diminish Jihadi DEI in their ranks ASAP. If not, then look for 8 more years of the GOP and Vance in the near future. If they wish to return to their older, working, strategies then Shapiro’s religion can be made to work for them.

You can almost taste the strategery in his statements.
He seems cast by old Hollywood for a movie about the 2028 Presidential election. He would be the smart choice, but...
The current Democratic party has yet to sort out who they will become. So this article is full of Ifs and Buts. Come to think of it the Democratic party is iffy and full of buts too. So...we will finnally know who is the winner in the Democrat's squid game when they settle on either the Newman or the new.
By then we'll know if they are still joshing.
